Bob Neill, Dale Baker & Larry Barton- Reunion 2007



Dec. 1, 1948 -- June 19, Dale F. Baker, 58, of Plymouth, IN, died at 7:51 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19,
2007, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

Dale was born on Dec. 1, 1948, in Indianapolis, IN, to Larry and Marjorie
(Shotts) Baker. Dale was a 1967 graduate of Elston High School in Michigan City
and was an electrical engineering graduate of Purdue University. He worked at
NIPSCO for 37 1/2 years after having served in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam
with the Blue Ghost Squadron.

He was a Past White Hat Commander of the Finney-Shilling VFW Post 6919 in
Culver, serving in that role from 1990 to 1992. He was also a member of the
American Legion and the Federation of Eagles. His two great passions were
gardening and kayaking. He was also a master gardener and enjoyed landscaping.


On May 15, 1998, he married Donna Pennington in Plymouth. She survives along
with his daughter, Noelle Baker of LaPorte, IN; grandsons, Ian and Zoren Baker;
stepchildren, Jeremy (Nichol) Pennington of Culver and stepdaughter, Misty Craft
of Bowling Green, KY. Other survivors include brothers, Terry (Kathy) Baker of
Springport, MI, Stu (Martha) Baker of Marshall, MI, and Ross (Laura) Baker of
Tualatin, OR; sisters, Jayellen (Mike) Johnston of Dugger, IN, and Lorry (Ron)
Klinger of Boon, MI; and three step-grandchildren, Justin and Shanna Craft, and
Haley Pennington.
 
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007, in the
Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, from 2 to 8 p.m. EST. Funeral services will be
held on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at 10 a.m. EST in the funeral home, with
interment following at Culver Masonic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Finney-Shilling VFW Post 6919.

Dale was a good friend and a big help with this site. We will all miss him though he will never be forgotten!
