Margarete Holm, the widow of Cpt. Dusty Holm will be scheduling a memorial Service for Cpt. Holm in Dusty's hometown, Waterford, CT, on the 5th or 6th of November. When that date has been finalized I will email the information to you.

It has been a LONG 39 years since these brave men died heroically in the service of their Country. I know that all who can make it to D.C. and/or Connecticut to honor them will make an effort to do so. Some of us are older than dirt and in need of assistance in order to be able to travel. Please let me know if you need any help getting to D.C. and we will see what can be done to assist you. Jack Kennedy - (575) 937-7359 or Jkenn41007@aol.com

If you know someone not on this list or whose email address has changed who might be interested in this information, please forward it to them!

We, Blueghost, now have a connection to "Dancing with the Stars". Let me explain.
Back in the spring of 1970 we lost a Cobra pilot named Larron Murphy while he was flying
cover during a nighttime extraction of a LRRP
team. He was listed as MIA for several years.
One day years later I saw an article in the Atlanta paper
that there was going to be a service in Atlanta and the Murphy family would be in attendance. Through this I met the Murphys and we became friends. Larron's parents have passed on but Eve and I are still friends with Larron's sister Susan and her husband Ron.
Recently, I stopped by to see Susan at Dalton Middle School where she is a teacher to tell her of my new granddaughter, Mollie and get caught up on any news about her family.
She told me that I had to watch Dancing With The Stars on October 3rd because a special young man named J R Martinez would be dancing.
She related this to me. Jr moved to Dalton between his junior and senior years and became fast friends with one of Susan's sons and before long Susan and the family viewed JR as one of her own. It is apparent that he holds her in highest regard because Ron and Susan were flown to L.A. for the 10-3-11 show to be in the studio audience.
When JR finished high school he did not have the money to go to college so he joined the Army to save money and later go to school. While in the Army he was sent to Iraq and the humvee he was in hit an IED and he was badly injured and burned over 40% of his body. Many operations later he decided to have nothing but positive thoughts and from that he landed a role on a major soap opera and now he has been chosen to be a contestant on "Dancing With The Stars"
Susan says he has a personality like gold. When you see him dance and smile it makes you proud to be a veteran with him.
Go to Utube and see his previous performances and watch upcoming shows. You won't believe it, and he has never danced until starting practice for this show.

Correction of date: April 69

Thought I'd stick my nose in the site to see what's up. Was Blue Ghost White when I took a round in April 68, blew out the artery in my leg. Doc Anderson saved my life on Hill 29. DOC told me in Memphis at the reunion that when he got to me that he had maybe 10 minutes tops before I bled out. Looks like you did everything right, DOC, Thank you! I turned 65 this year. Doc said he never knew my name until Memphis, up until then I was known to him as "the leg wound".

It's heart warming to see so many of "Dusty" Holm, Wayne Bibbs and Robin Yeakley friends still remember them. "Dusty" is my brother and it means a great deal to me to see the respect you have for them. I do hope to meet some of you at Arlington on the 8TH and 9TH of November. God Bless you all.

My brother Mike Lane was very proud to have served with such a brave and wonderful bunch of troops. I was glad that he got to attend a reunion before he passed away. I want to thank each and eveyone that called or stopped by to see my mother after mike died. He was a hell of a good man. Ed Lane
