Great Site! I was with the 54th Med. Det. Dustoff based at Ky Ha 6/68-5/69. I remember a CPT Blueghost, General's son I believe, who along with 2 or three other Cobras covered my tail one night just west of Quang Ngai in the rice paddies. He and another person graciously came to a Dustoff BBQ the next day/week and related how he was extending for loaches. A few weeks later one of ours picked him up KIA. I'm guessing it was around March/April 69. Can someone tell me his name?
Wiley Hall

Thanks to Dan and company for all the help on my personal page. I hope all the cobra crew chiefs get in on this so you can share your pics with family and friends.

I just got this note from my daughter Noelle after she saw the site: "Dad, that site was great! I remember you always telling me that it was only 2 days after I was born (that I got drafted) but whatever, the pictures look good in there! Take care and love you , Noelle"

I'm slowly learning how to navigate through this site and so far it has been fun. Keep it up and maybe we all can get caught up with what everyone has been doing. I enjoy reading the messages.
How do I join up and make the list for the reunion next year? I would like to hear from all the guys that I served with Dec 68 to Dec 69. Where are you?

There was a long gap before another post, when the spam and pop-ups started and most entries were just to post a web link.

Great site Dan. It sure brought back a lot of memories. Spent nearly a hour and a half there this morning. Several times it made me look up (eyes wet) at the BlueGhost patch that has been hanging on the wall over my computer desk. Thanks, 35 (68-69).

Signing in on behalf of my father, Capt. Arnold "Dusty" E. Holm Jr., Blueghost 11, shot down June 11th, 1972. Would appreciate hearing from those who knew him. I was only 4 years old when he was shot down. Looking forward to learning more about him through comrades and friends. Also, anyone with information as to his crash site location in relation to the crash site of 1LT James McQuade, also shot down June 11th, 1972, please contact me as soon as possible. They found 1LT McQuade's crash site in 1993. Investigators are going to Vietnam to search for my Dad's crash site in April 2003 and the more information we have, the better the chance of finding him and bringing him home. Thank you.

I want to thank everyone responsible for this website. My wife, Susan, is the baby sister of Larron "Bucky" Murphy. She still calls him Bucky. We'd appreciate hearing from anyone with stories, information, and/or pictures of and about Bucky. He is survived by his father - Rev, Lawrence Murphy, older brother - Wayne, younger sister - Sherri, younger brother - Kenneth, baby sister - Susan, and daughter - Kim. His mother passed away two years ago still believing that he may still be alive. He is still sorely missed and dearly loved. Again, thanks for your good work on this site.

Sincerely,

Ron Ward

I was the 1st Blue Ghost6 Alpha, grouped with C/7/17th Air Cav at Knox, deployed with advanced party into Camp Enari, flew gunner for Maj. James Marrett, Maj. Williams, co pilot was John Shepardson (poor guy) had to watch out for other birds, trees, enemies on the ground, and keep Marrett from flying into another of our own birds, don't blame me or crew chief Fred Hersom, we had no control over anything other than a 60 on bungee. Quit flying ,went to Blues as RTO for Cpt Dan Buckley, not many ldrs didn't lose a man, Capn Dan kept us all alive, SFC Stephens helped keep up morale, 1st Sgt Ralph Higgenbotham, my arch rival, but all in fun, I have an original 14th Combat Aviation Bn. yearbook,as well as a copy of the First Sqdn First Cavalry (Armored) year book has some great pics of original cast and crew of "Blue Ghost" would love to have a good copy of "grim reaper" door insignia.
To the Men I served with I want to say Thanks and I would do it all over again, IF I could do it with them. God Bless You and Yours "Woody"
Dennis E. Wood
